# She had a $10K month in 2020. Then lost it for four years.

She finally figured out what went wrong.

I did a Hot Seat call recently with Nakita, who's been running Maid in Tysons, a cleaning company in the DMV, for 4 years before she found us.

She'd actually had a $10,000 month back in 2020 when she first launched. The formula was working. But she was deep in a demanding day job, outsourced too much too early, and the business slowly slipped. "Set it and forget it," as she put it.

With no one around her running the same race, she started trying to fix things herself. Reinventing the pricing. Spreading budget across too many lead sources, half-committed to all of them. Doing different things to try to be savvy. Four years of that.

When Nakita got laid off nine months ago, she went all in. She found us through YouTube, booked a discovery call, and I gave it to her straight: fire your VA and get back to basics. Focus on recurring clients. Hire cleaners at the same pace your bookings grow. It truly is that simple.

And just last week, I told her one more thing: drop the green cleaning positioning . We love green cleaning, and our cleaners use both conventional and nature-based products depending on what the client wants. But leaning hard into "green cleaning only" as a brand message turns away the clients who just want a clean house . You're leaving money on the table for an angle that ChatGPT told you was important, not your actual market.

She joined the community, joined the calls, and started asking every question she'd been sitting on by herself. “Now I fix it within a week,” she said. Whereas before it would take her months. Or she'd just leave it broken.

Her words: "The accountability group is what really built my business. It was the iron sharpening the iron."

She's tracking toward $10K this month. The same number she hit back in 2020 before she lost the thread. The difference this time is she's not stopping there. There are people around her who've already built to $30K/month, $50K/month, and beyond, and we're not going to let her plateau.
